NORMAN ROCKWELL - ARTIST
NORMAN ROCKWELL - ARTIST
Norman Rockwell - Probably America's most loved and best known artist.
Had Norman Rockwell decided to run for President of the United States he might well have won. At the peak of his popularity, he was the best known artist in America and one of the most popular and recognizable celebrities as well. Rockwell was an artist who, as a child sketched Admiral Dewey's war ships entering New York Harbor in 1899. Then, seventy years later in 1969, he would paint the first landing on the moon. For a larger look at Norman Rockwell's Triple Self Portrait as pictured abo...

Norman Rockwell
I've been wanting to make a lens on Norman Rockwell for a while. It seemed fitting that I start this lens on February 3rd, his birthday. When I was in college my parents moved to a new house. In that house you'd find only two things hanging on the walls; pictures of me (I'm an only child), and Norman Rockwell art. My mom really liked his work and she starting collecting prints and figurines of his when she had a new house to decorate for. I like it too. It just seems so honest and real. Her...

Norman Rockwell's folk images are desirable when produced using giclee printing. The essence of the image remains the same, oly the printing method differs. Popular with collectors worldwide Norman Rockwell produced over 4000 original works of art. He has been a favorite of mine since I was a boy and saw his art on the cover of Boys Life Magazine. Most famous for his work on the Saturday Evening Post Magazine covers and the Four Freedoms Series. Reprints of his work are often sought out by collectors and and decorators. I doubt there is anyone who has not seen his work.On this lens I will be adding some history about this wonderful artist as time...

Norman Rockwell, Artist
Norman Rockwell was born February 3, 1894 in the apartment of his parents in their Upper West Side Manhattan Apartment. Rockwell was born the second son of businessman Jarvis Waring and Ann Mary (Hill) Rockwell. He showed talent as an artist from a young age as he sketched drawings of warships from the Spanish American War. Norman Rockwell paintings have become perhaps the most iconic American artist.

Welcome to the Rockwell Christmas Gift Guide!
Norman Rockwell is one of the artists responsible for the modern day image of Santa Claus. He's also known for his quintessential small town imagery. Rockwell's painted many scenes of the picture perfect Christmas including art for the covers of the Saturday Evening Post and for Hallmark. His classic artwork has been turned into a number of collectibles. Everything from figurines, collector plates, ornaments, bells and more. My favorites are framed prints as they are full size reproductions ...

Norman Rockwell- Innocence in Full Color
Norman Rockwell painted hometown America.  He  painted it quaint, he  painted it with humor, he painted  our  innocence. Beloved by nearly  everyone, no holiday was complete without at  least looking at Rockwell's paintings of it. I hope to build a page suitable to such a master illustrator. Norman Rockwell
Perhaps the best known painter of folk paintings is Norman Rockwell. His work is not only available in the original format, but appears in numerous formats such as packaging decorations. It is almost impossible to not have been exposed to his work, even if one is not aware of being in the presence of a Norman Rockwell image. Once one sees one, it is hard not to identify his other works as being from him. His work is quite unique, and does have an almost universal appeal.

Tribute to Norman Rockwell
Norman Rockwell and I never met. But his art inspired me and had a lot to do with me becoming an artist myself! My parents had two Norman Rockwell art books in the house when I was growing up, and I loved to pore over all the illustrations when I was young - as I got older, I spent more time learning about the mechanics of his artwork - how he took several photographs or live models and materials and combined them in his paintings. How he adjusted it all to make it fit. I liked finding out wh...
