Sea Life and Fantasy Sculpture by Noadis Art
Come Explore Noadi's Art Original Fantasy Sculpture
Noadi's Art is my little world of fantasy art. Mainly I'm a sculptor though I do dabble in other mediums. Fantasy gives me such a range of subjects to explore so I've sculpted everything from fairies to gods to octopuppies in jars. While the main material in my sculptures is polymer clay I define my work as mixed media, if a material catches my eye I'll find a way to use it. I hope you like my work and by all means let me know whatever your opinion is.

The Demon Mustang of Denver International Airport
Scandalous "evil" fiberglass sculpture at DIA by Luis Jimenez
The sculpture, Mustang, was created by New Mexico's Luis Jimenez. It would come to rest outside DIA 12 years late, $350,000 over budget, and guilty of murdering its creator. Whether you like the sculpture or not, it is notable. I first saw it in daylight and was taken aback by the garish blue color. It looks a giant plastic toy. Then I drove past it one night and was stunned. Nicknames like "Bluecifer" and "Satan's Stallion" make sense when you see those burning red eyes glaring at you throu...

Bleeding Wings Sculpture Series
Bleeding Wings Sculpture Series by Kathy Ostman-Magnusen
I am a painter and a sculptor, creating from my heart all the things I cannot say with mere words. My background is 20 years in production pottery so I know what clay can do in regards to expression and form. After walking away from my production pottery studio 16 years ago I did not want to touch another piece of clay again in my life. After a few years I got over that. Now I know that I could never let go of that medium and have come home again to embrace it. I have been concentrating more...

Play-doh vs. Polymer Modeling Clay
What is the Difference?
Play-doh vs. Polymer Modeling Clay My initial question was What is the best choice for a pre-school aged child: Play-doh or Polymer modeling Clay? After reading more about Polymer Clay it has become apparent Polymer Modeling Clay is toxic and should not be used with children. Play-Doh vs. Pluffy (modeling clay) Pluffy is a modeling clay product for children that is non-toxic but is very much like Polymer Clay in that it can be baked in the oven and kept. So my revised question is: Which prod...

Funky Whimsical Mixed Media Art - Michelle Collins Studio
Welcome To My Imagination - Please Excuse The Mess
I work in a wide variety of media and subject matter. In December of 2006 I was to have a featured show at the: Progress Energy Art Gallery in New Port Richey, Florida. For this show I wanted to complete all new art pieces, each combining all of the elements I work with, incorporated into each piece. I called this series "ALL MIXED UP" because they range in subject and style, but have all of the following elements in common: acrylic paint, polymer clay, raffia, varnish, wire, wood and dimens...

Sarasota Season of Sculpture 2010 | Season Five Exhibition
Organic Lyricism: Works from The Sculpture Foundation
Season five of the Sarasota Season of Sculpture displayed 12 sculptures on the Bayfront of our town located on the west coast of Florida USA. The museum without walls allowed locals and visitors to walk around and through the monumental sculptures. There also were weekly docent tours. Titled "Organic Lyricism," the exhibit is curated by the Sculpture Foundation, which owns the sculptures. The curator narrowed the pieces under consideration to 20. Then a local group of artists, educator, art ...

Bernini's Pluto and Proserpina
I love Bernini's Pluto and Prosepina
I fell in love in Rome, not with any flesh and blood man, but with Bernini's Pluto and Proserpina marble statue. In my opinion, pictures do not do the Pluto and Proserpina sculpture justice. To truly understand the beauty of this piece you must visit it in the Galleria Borghese in Rome, Italy. Below find details, pictures and my impressions of the Pluto and Proserpina Group sculpture.

Sharing | Sculpture by Bruno Lucchesi | Sarasota Public Art
Public Art Provokes Controversy
New residents may think that controversy about public art in Sarasota began with the colossal Unconditional Surrender slated to live on the bayfront until at least 2020, but even the seemingly tame bronze titled Sharing by Bruno Lucchesi stirred up our community. Although then-Sarasota Herald-Tribune art critic Joan Altabe pointed out that the sculpture "captures another moment -- nothing more," the Sarasota County arts panel at the time clearly bowed to public opinion to select a sculpture o...
