Newbery Medal Winners, 1950-1959
At the beginning of this decade, Newbery Medal winning children's books (and Newbery Honor Books) were still fairly simplistic, but by the end, we're favored with an outstanding historical novel, The Witch of Blackbird Pond, that sets a precedent for the increased quality of children's books in the years to come.
