I write poetry and have books of my poetry for sale. My love of poetry started with this man: Shel Silverstein I love the book Where the Sidewalk Ends! I got it as a child and would read it over and over. It is full of poems children will love. My third grade teacher used to read it to us during class. That is how I learned about this wonderful author and book at the age of 8. To this day I recite his poems to people. I speak of Sara Cynthia Sylvia Stout who simply would not take the garbag...

The Giving Tree is a story of a boy and a tree and what happens as the boy grows up. It shows unselfishness and love toward another. It has a message for both the child and the parent reading the story. For the parent it helps to remind them that life passes by so quickly! Enjoy those around you every day. For the children it shows them that those that love you will always support you in everything you do.
