Theosophical Society - theosophy
There is no religion higher than truth
The cool thing about the Theosophical Society is that it is a great place to learn about religion, philosophy, science and metaphysics - without having to commit to any dogmas or a specific spiritual path. Each member can remain in whatever religion they choose - as long as they respect each other's beliefs and practices.

Archives 2008: The Theosophical Organisation 'proposal'
The Theosophical Organization
The Theosophical Society has a directly elected president. The main question asked here is: should that election procedure be changed? DRAFT PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SOCIETY'S RULES AND REGULATIONS. The below poll is based on the proposed amendments: what I consider the most important points out if it. I've followed the order of the document for easier reference. The numbers before each poll question refers to the number on the amendment. The most important issues seem to have been ...

H.P. Blavatsky and the Theosophical Society
HPB, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, Madame Blavatsky
Blavatsky compared the science of her day, studied the world religions and came up with her own synthesis, which she called 'theosophy', or ancient wisdom. With Col. Olcott she founded the Theosophical Society, which played a significant part in the development of Western esotericism, Indian independence and the revival of Buddhism, Hinduism and other Asian religions.

Annie Besant, teacher, lecturer, secularist and theosophist...
The Many lives of Annie Besant Wood
Minister's wife, student of medicine, raised a prophet, reformer, secularist and more. Annie Besant (1847-1933) was many things in her lifetime - and living in the 19th and early 20th century, all of those things were revolutionary for a woman to be doing. [Many of the below were not true during her whole life - as they are obviously incompatible.] She was a medicine student, when women weren't yet allowed into most colleges. Her degree was withheld from her on a technicality. She was a Ref...

It unites science and religion in a unique synthesis. Changed my life and my world view completely. Contains many of the themes of the modern New Age movement like: karmic evolution, Atlantis, parapsychology, Unity of All Life/everything, unity of all religions etc. More theosophy More religion and spirituality

The Letters of H.P. Blavatsky, Volume One
Blavatsky's Early Correspondence
This book caused a storm in theosophical circles: how dare they publish letters that many serious theosophists thought were NOT written by H.P. Blavatsky? Well they - the vice president of the Theosophical Society, his wife and an editorial committee - actually thought the reader should decide for themselves whether those letters were by Blavatsky or not. I do think that's a grand gesture for any religious organisation to make. To publish a book that gives opponents ready made fuel for detra...

The Voice of the Silence, by H.P. Blavatsky: review
Meditating Blavatsky
This is the version of The Voice of the Silence that I keep reading - and which I give to anyone who is interested. It doesn't only have Blavatsky's original text and footnotes verbatim, it also has the commentary of her nephew Boris de Zirkoff. Since Boris de Zirkoff was THE theosophical scholar of his generation, his commentary is well worth reading. Shown is my own copy.
