1st President of the United States
George Washington, the Father of Our Country, was a man of great importance. As a war hero he helped fight with the Brits in the French and Indian War and then against them in the Revolutionary War. He was asked to be King of America for all he'd done, but refused, saying a different kind of government was needed. He helped establish this government and was elected President for the first time by a unanimous vote.
