Conjunction Junction, what's your function? In the 70's and 80's, the catchy Schoolhouse Rock tunes taught millions of children the fundamentals of math, grammar, science, history, and money three minutes at a time. Schoolhouse Rock is a series of 46 educational short films that were originally conceived by Thomas G. Yohe in 1972 that aired on ABC Saturday mornings between 1973 to 1986 and infrequently during the 1990's and 2000's.

Oh -- how I loved Saturday mornings and waiting around for the Schoolhouse Rock clips to show.  Sitting in the living room, waaay to close to the tv (with a bowl of Captain Crunch if I was lucky!), waiting for the breaks in the shows so I could see them.  I don't think I knew at the time that I was learning off of them also - but, those lessons stuck, I pulled out one as an example in a Political Science class in college for heaven's sake. I think there are very few folks my age (which I won't reveal here) who wouldn't remember that one short phrase and the tune that goes with it. After all, didn't we watch those first true "rock videos" over and over every weekend? Conjunction Junction, I'm Just a Bill, and others are still indelibly printed on my mind.
