Best Gangster Movies of All Time
I am not sure why we love gangster movies so much but maybe it has to do with our own secret desires to break out of our own monotony and break society rules. Whatever the reason, the gangster movie is one of the most popular movie genres and most new mob movies become blockbuster successes. The Godfather series is the leader of the category both in terms of total ticket sales, but also in terms of Academy Awards with both The Godfather and The Godfather, Part II winning the Best Picture Osc...

Once - The Motion Picture and the Music
An Irish Love Story and Musical
Once is a very unusual film, and a beautiful one. It was made in three weeks, the leads are musicians not actors, they played their own songs and it's not your typical musical. They meet in the street over music, progress through awkwardness and friendshi...

Films About Art & Artists
Films About Art & Artists
I'm drawn to films about art and artists---and since my favorite thing to do when I'm not in my own studio is to watch DVDs, I've seen a lot of them. In making this list, I focused on films made in the last thirty years. Obviously, there are some great classic films dealing with art and artists, but I'll leave those for someone who is focused on older flicks. Also, I had to have seen the film to include it here---and I don't generally watch foreign films, because I find subtitles distracting.
