The Karate Kid from 1984 was one of my favorite movies from the 80s, and definitely my favorite underdog movie (sorry Rocky). Of course now, they have remade The Karate Kid with Jackie Chan which I saw in the theater and liked, but the original is still my favorite. I was very sad when I heard that Pat Morita, who plays Mr. Miyagi had passed away in 2005. And I was rooting for Ralph Macchio in the 12th season of Dancing with the Stars.

We all know about the Karate Kid with Jaden Smith. We all like the movie and all, but nothing can replace the original Karate Kid from back in the 80s. Not only did it spawned off 3 sequels, but had it's own Saturday Morning Cartoon as well.
