Tea Junkie
Tea Junkie
I grew up on Lipton iced tea with lots of sugar, aka. sweet tea if you are from the South. After a three week visit to China, I have become a tea junkie. There's green teas, white teas, oolong teas, herbal infusions, and so much more. I am constantly...

Taiwan Tea
Taiwan Tea
An introduction to social tea, Taiwanese style.
I love simple, but high-quality teas.  So I am fortunate to live in Taiwan, which produces some of the best teas in the world.  I also love the uncomplicated rituals of preparing social tea in Taiwan.  I use the term "social tea" to distinguish the common, day-to-day preparation of tea from the more formal gongfu tea and wu-wo tea ceremonies and also from the wide variety of modern "tea bar" style teas.  In Taiwan, this style of tea preparation is called lao ren cha, or "old man's tea."  But ...

Bottled Iced Tea Drinks
Bottled Iced Tea Drinks
Bottled iced tea
When I used to drink bottled iced tea, it was always Snapple back in the days when Seinfeld was on TV, and I'm not talking reruns. Maybe I just didn't notice there were other brands of bottled iced tea back then, but now it seems like there is a new kind of bottled iced tea every week! Some flavors of bottled iced tea that I love are raspberry, peach, and sometimes green tea if it actually tastes like green tea. I also like half tea and half lemonade. Lately, I have been wanting raspberry ice...

A Passion for Tea!
A Passion for Tea!
I acquired my passion for tea on my first extended visit to Ireland in 1995. Every morning, we had a lovely "cuppa" with breakfast. Every afternoon we had another with lunch or a snack. After dinner, it was not unusual to have 2 or 3 mugs with biscuits (cookies to the U.S. folks) while enjoying casual conversation. And after a night on the town, tea was the drink of choice, as if it might prevent a hangover!

For Love of Tea
For Love of Tea
I Love Tea
I have always loved my tea--hot or iced, morning, afternoon and evening, summer or winter. For many people tea is a popular drink to have with friends. In many countries around the world, tea drinking is an important social occasion. It is a time to relax and enjoy the loveliness of the simple things around you. "Tea," they say, "is a healthy, enjoyable and stimulating drink, full of good qualities. It reduces loneliness and calms your heart; it is a comfort in everyday life."  My intention i...

I love Rooibos Tea
I Love Tea!!!
Don't you just love tea??  I have never been a big coffee drinker, and to be honest I stayed away from all hot drinks until I spent a few months living in South Africa - now i can't live without it!!!!  My favorite right now is Rooibos - made from the Red Bush - native to South Africa.  It is hugely popular there and nearly impossible to get here unless it is flavored (celestial seasons has a few flavored ones)  Not that i dont like flavored tea - but why cant people just let the tea be the f...

Barley Tea
Barley Tea
The Roast Barley Tea has been a popular refreshing tea drink in Japan for hundred of years. This barley tea is gently roasted to perfection in small batches and has unparallel taste and flavor. The nourishing tea is caffeine free. It also has a nutty fragrance and a pleasing mellow taste. Mugi-cha is a nutritious drink containing an abundance of amino acids, sugars and carmel-like flavours. It is a refreshing non-caffeine drink that can be drunk in quantity by those sensitive to ordinary tea....
