What is an erector set?
Erector sets were first designed in 1911 by AC Gilbert. Since the 1980s erector sets have been made by Meccano. These sets are popular construction toys consisting of small metal beams with enough nuts and bolts to attach them together. More complicated sets include pulleys and motors to make working cranes and vehicles. The possibilities for what to build with an erector set are limited only by the imagination!
