Being a teenager in the 80s I love 80s music, but what exactly is it? It is so hard to define as diverse as it was. In the post punk aftermath you had the likes of Spandau Ballet in London and Duran Duran in Birmingham leading a new era called the New Romantics. The 80s also saw a lot of electronic media such as the synthesizer being used to great effect. The power ballad was also something that was big in the 80s, along with hair and shoulder pads!
