The Art and Music of Frank Zappa
Frank Zappa, The Legend
I think there were some great musicians of the 20th century but one stands out most in my opinion, Frank Zappa. I wanted to share with you one of my favorite musical artists of all time, FZ. I started listening to Zappa in my teenage years during the late 80's. I didn't discover his older music until later on in life. Now that I've listened to just about everything he put out I've got to say he left behind a thread of music that will live forever. Close2Art Home Page

Frank Zappa
I once set out to buy every Zappa album (there's more than 60 of them). I own quite a few LPs and CDs, but haven't completed the mission yet. What's great about Zappa is that you can always go back, sometimes many years later, listen to an album you haven't heard in a while and still enjoy it. That's really tough to say about most recording artists, IMO. I recently went through Joe's Garage - all three acts - and laughed and marveled at the genius that is Zappa. I wish he was still around.

Frank Vincent Zappa
A composer is a guy who goes around forcing his will on unsuspecting air molecules, often with the assistance of unsuspecting musicians. ~ Frank Zappa I have been a huge FZ fan for years. He has a whole shelf to himself in my CD and album collection. He was a guitarist, songwriter, composer, band-leader, film producer with a prolific output but little commercial success. He covered musical genres from rock, jazz, doo-wop, electronic, experimental and classical among others. There will be a li...

Frank Zappas Hot Rats
The Jazzy Side of Frank Zappa
I love Frank Zappa's music, though not all of his music had taste, certainly many of his comedy albums could be more than over the top. His music that incorporated more jazzier elements than usual tend to be my favorites. Hot Rats being the pinnacle of that style, Along with The Grand Wazoo and Waka Jawaka, Also masterpieces of Rock Jazz. Hot Rats Boasts one of the most gorgeous melodies of Frank Zappa's career, "Peaches in Regalia" Only 3 minutes and 38 seconds , but you would be hard presse...
