I had two 8 track tapes of his songs and played them over and over as I cared for our new baby boy. That was over forty years ago and now my little boy has children of his own. Engelbert Humperdinck, a German composer
Engelbert Humperdinck (18541921) was a German composer. His works included the opera, Hänsel und Gretel (1893). A side note: the popular British-American pop singer of the 1960s and 1970s, Engelbert Humperdinck, whose hits included "Release Me" and "Les Bicyclettes de Belsize", was born Arnold George Dorsey and took his stage name (Engelbert Humperdinck) from the German classical composer whom we are discussing in this lens.
