Our mission is to rescue, shelter, rehabilitate and find permanent homes for donkeys that would otherwise be destroyed for meat consumption overseas. These animals are often shipped in horrific conditions to processors outside of the US - many die from thirst before they even reach the slaughter houses. In nature, donkeys live in dry places and their hooves are very hard. In civilization, they spend more time on soft services and in wet areas, and this makes it more likely that at some point your donkey may develop an abscess.
