Tribute To My Pet
Aren't I Cute?
Hi, my name is Carmen. You know you've seen me before. Mom has written several lenses about me and the rest of the animal family in this house. Mom wanted to make this page special so I can show everyone what I wish every animal could have. I didn't come from a shelter, but I was rescued from a family that wasn't very nice to me. This lens is to show you how my life has changed since I was adopted by my new family, and how you can do the same for another animal like me.
Meet Larry! My Llama
Larry is a llama, he is in fact a leaping, leery, llama, who loves his friends. Meet our Llama and his buddies; Blackie and Norman the cows (steers really), and his goat gal pals and their babies. He has other friends too, Lucy Goosey, Gary Gander and the duck brigade. They all live together on our little farm, in the back pen. Larry came to live with us a few months ago to escape being picked on by another llama in the group that he was living with. He is about a year old. Being born last w...
Meet Keyser Soze!
Hi there! I'm Keyser Soze, a 5 year old male American Akita. I live with my Mom and my Boy in Our House. I don't have a special story - my Mom wanted a playmate for Toastie, so she brought me home. Exciting huh? My Boy keeps talking about his Birthday and asking Mom to put stuff on his Wishlist. I figure if he can do it, so can I. So, Mom, here's my Wishlist!
Who Would Name Her Dog Bossypants?
Choosing a screen name was tough, but choosing my avatar was easy. Originally, it never occurred to me that there would be any relationship between the two, but now plenty of people think the dog in my avatar is named bossypants. Not so! She is Nattie. Few things in life bring my family as much joy as our sweet beast. Nattie's a purebred Samoyed -- from championship stock, no less. She even has a fancy four part purebred name. But like the other companions we've loved before her, she is a re...
Zoe is a Joy
Zoe is our feisty, funny, sweet loving, silly cat, who understands the joys of being a cat and of a good catnap. She doesn't really like her photo taken so it can be challenging to get a good full face and body photo of her, it is easiest to get her when she is at her most angelic, taking a catnap! When she isn't taking a catnap she is quite the little ball of energy. Zoe literally zips around the house. She loves to climb, bury herself under the comforter, jump on laps and play with her fav...
Meet Cat!
This is a fun and entertaining story about the newest addition to my family. She's beautiful, fun to be around and the friendliest, most affectionate little girl I know. Everybody, please welcome . . . . . . . . . . The one . . . The only . . . CAT!
Meet Cisco!
Yes, you read that right. I'm a farming dog, not a farmer's dog. Well I suppose technically I'm both. Or rather I was. I'm an old lady now and despite my desire to continue helping with the field work and chasing off the wild critters my people insist I just live a life of leisure these days. I know lots of farm dogs but none so special as me. After all, while many get to ride around in pickups and such, I actually rode in tractors and combines helping my human do actual farming. My human qu...
Sharing My Life with a Great Dane
Lucky me. I get to share my life with a wonderful Great Dane dog named Montana. And I have for the last 9 years. Montana is a rescue dog himself and the ambassador for a rescue center. Which means he has a job at the BuckHawk Center Animal Rescue. Well, he wasn't given the job, he volunteered. Everbody at the center is a volunteer, so he just fits right in. Of course, his "fitting in" means he makes a wonderful wall when you are trying to get past him into a different room. He charges a tol...
My dog has seizures. That's something I never expected to say. Aside from a few food allergies and UTIs, Mireille, my 2 year old Jack Russell mix, has always been a healthy and happy dog. I feed her all natural dog food. She's not a dog breed known for developing seizures. I'm over zealous about the treats she eats, toys with which she plays, not allowing her near chemicals.... I knew I was doing everything right. Then one night my world turned upside down.
Meet Our Orphan we called Tweety!
It was a rainy, windy Tuesday in late August 1973 that my husband, Larry, brought an orphan home in his lunch bucket. After a quick kiss hello he said, "I have an orphaned bird for you in my lunch bucket!" This half naked little orphan was an American Golldfinch.
