The Baltimore Ravens opening season was in 1996.The Ravens got their name from an Edgar Allan Poe poem, The Raven. Edgar Allan Poe lived in Baltimore. The Ravens triumphed over the New York Giants in the superbowl XXXV. This was in 2000 which was their best season ever. They only appeared in the superbowl once and won.
