It's not that hard...
Before you start reading all this, you may want to open Advanced HTML in a new tab, because you'll be wanting to check it out as soon as you've finished this! You can use basic HTML in a few of the lens modules. Mostly used to create hyperlinks (they are the "live links" to other sites). Though there are also other uses for HTML. If you find yourself in need of quick tutorial on how to do it, here it is! Being able to grasp this skill will take your Squidoo Lensmastering talents from beginne...

Simple Tweaks to Spice Up Your Lens
The basic tools provided by Squidoo will do pretty much everything you need to get your content out to your audience. But sometimes you want to format it a little differently, and this is where inline CSS comes into play. Here I show some of the tricks I use on my lenses, and the code that does that. If you haven't used inline CSS before, you should first read Basic HTML and Advanced HTML. These explain of the basic principles of using CSS on your lenses.

HTML Tips for Color
HTML Tips for Color
Color!
Color can be applied via HTML tags to fonts, borders and backgrounds. squidoo.com/basichtml and squidoo.com/advancedhtml show how to implement these colors. This lens however isn't going to show how the code is applied, but is a repository for the lists of colors in both the name and the hexadecimal value. So be sure to add this lens to favorites so you can drop by and pick and choose colors and color themes to your hearts content while using any of the How To HTML lenses here on Squidoo.

Bulleted and Ordered Lists
Bulleted and Ordered Lists
Lists
You can easily make bulleted or numbered lists in the Text List module. Too easy! But if you want more control and more of a say on how the information is presented you'll need to learn to use three HTML tags. Lets say you want to display a list in the middle of a slab of information and then continue writing without having to add another Text/Write Module (and feel obliged to have a new heading) you can. On top of that you can tweak the look of the bullets. Or indeed get very clever with ...

How to combine your css codes...
My lens about css for squidoo often gets the question: how do I combine the code? This lens is an answer to that question. You'll learn about floats, and borders and colors and more. I hope it helps. In practice I really hope you won't be using too much of this code on your lenses. Do float an image every once in a while. Don't spice things up with too many colors: the current Squidoo themes look great all on their own.

Previewing Text Modules
Seen lenses with fancy backgrounds and colourful borders? Wondered how to do it and been a bit intimidated? Worried you'll mess up your lens? Here's a helping hand ... Most lenses can be improved with a pinch of HTML and a dash of CSS, Unfortunately it can be trial and error to get the display perfect in size and shape and colours. Should I tweak this colour, try a thicker border, what's padding going to do? Trying all this while creating a lens is a bit of a fiddle; you have to save a mo...

CSS and HTML Resources
I am constantly striving to beautify my lenses. Just like many Squidooers starting out, my first lenses are a little plain looking. However there have been vast improvements within Squidoo itself since I began Squidoo in July 2008. For instant, "Text with Big Picture" didn't exist. I didn't know how to add images from other sites into my lenses. And the images that were uploaded from my computer ended up to be small pictures on the lenses. Though content is what should count, beauty is what ...

This one is more of a cheat sheet where you can pick out your color schemes that I have put in front of you. The codes are right inside of the boxes for your convenience. It has been mentioned to me to make a cheat sheet type of lens, so here it is for you.

I am constantly working on improving my lenses to make them look the best that they can be. I was a Newbie when I joined Squidoo, July 2008. I wasn't familiar with how different type of text formats worked on Squidoo. For one thing Squidoo is a different type of sea creature. What might work on your website or blog doesn't necessary work on Squidoo. So far I have only worked with different colored text and making certain text bold. Now with this resource all in one place, I can start testing...
