The Purple Star Program on Squidoo
The Purple Star Program on Squidoo
What is a purple star? (And why you might want one)
Purple Stars are fairy dust. They're magic. They're surprises. They're trophies celebrating authentic, original, fantastic content on Squidoo. They're given out by our editors and community organizers, whenever they find a lens that makes them smile. You'll never know when or where a purple star will arrive--but you'll get a special email if you're bestowed with one. Bonnie and Robin, your hardworking community champions, will dust standout lenses, both new and old, at any time of the day or...

Purple Star Pastiche Awards
This lens is a showcase for Squidoo lenses I've created that have earned a Purple Star Award. It's also a place where I invite other Purple Star lensmasters to show off their award-winning lenses. If you've created a Purple Star lens, you can submit your lens to the plexo in this lens. Purple is one of my favorite colors - it's the color of passion, royalty. Next to purple, I love red - and when I put purple and red together I get really excited! Several lenses have earned me a Giant Squid ...

The Quest for 20 Worthy Lenses
The Quest for 20 Worthy Lenses
Join Susan52, Purple Star queen for a week, on her quest for 20 worthy lenses.
OOnce upon a time, in a kingdom called Squidoo, there lived a Giant Squid named Susan52. Now, while Susan52 was a Giant of long-standing (anointed 'way back in the second Giant Squid class of the kingdom's history), she had no special powers (unless you count her extraordinary story-telling skills and mastery of hyperbole, but I digress). Then one recent day there came a contest to the kingdom. A contest to anoint the winner with a special power. Power that would last just a week. The power...

My Purple Stars and Other Pretty Purple Things
My Purple Stars and Other Pretty Purple Things
Why Purple is so Pretty
First, let me explain this 'purple star' thing, which is all to do with a site I write for called Squidoo. A purple star is badge of merit given to writers who have produced work of extra high-quality for the site. Because a purple star is a source of pride, many of Squidoo's writers keep a record of their purple star pages. This is mine. I hope you will stick around even if you have zero interest in Squidoo and its writers. You see, I also happen to be fond of the colour purple in general a...

Tandemonimom Twinkles with Purple Star Awards!
Purple Starshine on Tandemonimom's Lenses!
I have twenty-four purple stars and two Lens of the Day awards! "Purple Stars are fairy dust. They're magic. They're surprises. You'll never know when or where they'll arrive ..." thus says Megan Casey, Squidoo's Editor-in-Chief. Getting a purple star is a special thrill for a Giant Squid, and I have received that thrill almost two dozen times now! I thought a lens would be an easy way to keep track of my awards. Please add your purple star lens to the link list below - don't forget to vote...

The Color Purple on Squidoo
Those small purple stars you see floating around in lens bios -- they represent a little boost. And I don't mean in lensrank, although it gives you a bit of that too, temporarily anyway. But what isn't temporary is the boost of confidence and morale that little purple star bestows out here on the huge world wide web, where it's easy to feel SO very small and insignificant. On Squidoo, though, you're not always just one wee twinkle amidst a huge galaxy of stars. Sometimes, you're made to fee...

A Lensography of My Lenses That Earned Purple Stars
Squidoo certainly knows how to motivate lensmasters. Every time you turn around, there's another honor to vie for. If you have a competitive bone in your body, then you can't resist trying to earn gold stars, angel blessings, Giant Squid, Squid 100 and purple stars. These certainly incite lensmasters to keep working and perfecting each lens in hopes of getting noticed and earning an award of some sort. Here are the lenses that have earned purple stars for me. stars by fire_life (graphic ava...

Purple Star Goodness
Purple Star Goodness
Purple Stars are the 2nd Best Award on Squidoo! Here's how to get, and give one.
Receiving a Purple star on Squidoo is a hardy pat on the back for the Squidoo Lensmasters (authors). In order to be eligible, a lensmaster must be a Giant Squid. What's that you may ask? A Giant Squid has written at least 50 quality lenses (pages or articles), has been nominated and accepted into the Giant Squid program. UPDATE: Now anyone can earn a Purple Star, but it still has to be GREAT! Oh, and want to know about the 1st Best Award on Squidoo? The "Lens of the Day." I hope to get one o...

Passionate About Squidoo Purple Stars
I'd like to take a moment to thank our Giant Squid Community Organizers for sponsoring the Purple Star program. They have done an exceptional job of highlighting the best and brightest of the Squidoo society. I am especially humbled to have received a few of these honors along my own journey...
