WarWoman Dell-Clayton, Georgia
WarWoman Dell-Georgia Park
WarWoman Dell is located in the Northeast section of Georgia in a great town called Clayton. Clayton, Georgia reminds me of a small Gatlinburg, TN. The drive to Clayton remains me of the mountains in Colorado; they just seem to be right in front of you. Clayton is located in Rabun County and you will see a little of everything there, mountains, waterfalls, springs, forest, lakes and so much more. Rabun County is nestled in the southern tip of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a conven...

Stone Mountain, Georgia
Stone Mountain
Stone Mountain is just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Now, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place to young and impressionable kids because you never know what they're going to pick up on but it's alright for adults and teens who are interested in Southern culture. Specifically all the embarrassing stereotypes of Southern culture. Use this place to learn from, not to emulate. The carving on Stone Mountain is the largest bas relief sculpture in the world. This Confederate Memorial depicts t...

Georgia Covered Bridges
Covered Bridges
I have always had this love for covered bridges. They hold a lot of history and have seen more than most eyes could imagine. A Covered Bridge also holds a lot of mystery and often are considered spooky and haunting. Since I have been so involved with photography lately, my husband and I have been a lot of research on local covered bridges in Georgia. So far we have found four of them and each one has been a joy to visit and to photograph. The one thing that saddens me is all of the vandalism...

Coastal Georgia - From Tybee Island to Cumberland Island
Coastal Georgia - Step Back in Time
Coastal Georgia is the place to visit if you like your beaches laid-back and natural. Just a short drive from I-95, the beaches of Coastal Georgia weave in and out along 100 miles of shore line, salt marsh, and barrier islands, creating a peaceful and beautiful environment for loggerhead sea turtles and all sorts of birds. http://www.flickr.com/photos/adam_d_/ / CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 Tybee Island, near Savannah, Georgia, is the northernmost island in the chain of barrier islands making up the Geo...

Jekyll Island - An Overview
Jekyll Island is part of a cluster of islands most approriately named the Golden Isles of Georgia. The Golden Isles also include St. Simons Island and Little St. Simons Island. Georgia
Georgia Past and Present
Georgia's roots go back to Colchis and Iberia, real countries but the source of many myths, at the south-east corner of the Black Sea. Much conquered, Georgia has managed to maintain its language and identity for many centuries. Ethnic rivalries caused by successive conquests, invasions, religious conversions, relocations and border re-assignments have persisted since antiquity, through the Stalinist era to today.
