Wildflowers and Plantlife in Joshua Tree National Park
There's more to see in the desert than sand. MUCH more!
Joshua Tree National Park is filled with plants and wildflowers, particularly in the springtime, when the hills and washes are blooming with color! Winter precipitation helps considerable, nourishing the grounds and allowing delicate flowers to flourish. But even in the drier years, one can still find beautiful plants and cactus' in bloom, if one makes the effort to search them out and goes to the right places. It's a tree, it's a town, it's an album, it's a National Park!
The Joshua Tree is a multi-talent. First of all, it's a tree - who would have thought? But it's so much more than that. It is also a town of sorts, or more correctly, a "census-designated place". Not quite a real town, but almost. It is also the name of a very successful album by a very successful rock band called U2. And most importantly, it is a spectacular National Park in California. I invite you to join me in my quest for all things Joshua Tree!

Welcome to Joshua Tree
Created a national park only thirteen years ago, this pristine wilderness has been a US National Monument since 1936. Home to loads of flora and fauna, the park derives its name from the tree-like Joshua Tree plants that load the landscape.
