The Tropical Plants, Flowers and Trees of Key West
Growing up in Key West, I was surrounded by lush tropical beauty. As a child, I really didn't pay much attention to or appreciate the flora of Key West. Now that I am older, I have more of an interest in gardening, nature and the beauty that surrounds us. This article will be a trip back in time to remember the plants, flowers and trees of my Key West childhood. Thanks in part to Squidoo friend and lensmaster, Lori Burdoo, who is vacationing in Key West and volunteered to take some photos fo...

Key West Florida
Key West is the perfect vacation destination. The weather is amazing year round, the views are breathtaking and there so much to choose from. It's a great spot for Spring break, honeymoons, family vacations, or getaways with friends. I've been 3 times and I'm sure I'll get back there again. We usually go in February because it's a nice break from the snow we have here. We've flown in to Miami and driven the whole length of the Keys and we've also flown right into Key West.

My Best Vacation Ever
My Best Vacation Ever
Key West
My best vacation ever has to be in Key West, Fl. As you know, I am a retired truck driver. So I drove a lot. I averaged about 3500 miles per week and because of that I looked for vacations right in the middle of the action. I don't like to spend all of my money on cabs. Well, if you like not too hot weather, ocean breezes, fishing, swimming with dolphins, night-time bars, museums, history, and local artists of all kinds, you are going to love Key West. I stayed at the Curry Mansion because of...

Key West...As Far As You Can Go To Get Away From It All
If you drive south on Highway 1 from Miami and get to a sign like this, it means that you've reached Key West, Florida. You've just driven over the famous Seven Mile Bridge and passed through Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon and Big Pine Key. These places are home to some of the most beautiful real estate and exclusive island communities in the U.S. These other "keys" have their own stories for other lenses. But now you are at mile marker 0... You have also reached the end of the road...You c...

Key West Florida's Bahama Village is a well kept secret
Key West Florida's Bahama Village is a well kept secret
Bahama Village - one of the oldest sections of Key West Florida
I'm here in Key West FL for 6 weeks, and finally ventured off Duval Street and over to Bahama Village. Now, Bahama Village, if you ask me, is an area of old town Key West that's gotten a bum rap. Known as the spot where the locals live, Bahama Village has some of the most colorful houses and characters this side of the Conch Republic. I'm on my own in Key West, ,alone for a week, with 2 of my dogs - lucky beasts get to have very long walks throughout Key West 3 times a day. I daresay that Ba...

Introducing Key West
Key West is the USA's most southerly town, sitting at bottom end of the string of islands called the Keys. The town is known for its autonomous spirit; it harbors a community which prides itself for tolerance and free thinking. After the railroad joined all the Florida Keys in 1912, and a road in 1938, Key West still stood as a a home to the eccentric. The community is made up of a diverse population - Conchs (from the Bahamas), freshwater Conchs (long-serving residents) Hispanics (migrants ...
