Ten places in the Philippines I don't want to miss
As I am married to a Filipina, I have visited the Philippines several times. Our base is always Tacloban City, but when possible we visit a few other places too. Below is my bucket list of ten places I must see in the Philippines. I will create a lens on each place we've already visited.
The Maria Cristina Falls, on the Agua River in the island of Mindanao, is one of many sources of hydroelectric power in the Philippines. The Philippines also has significant potential resources in geothermal, tidal, and solar energy, in addition to established fossil fuel resources. (Photo: Pquiampang, July 2006, Public Domain)
Tuguegarao: Capital City of Cagayan and Ybaneg
As well as being the regional capital of Region 02 (the Cagayan Valley) and of its province, Tuguegarao City is also the premier city of the Ybanag people. Tuguegarao is the economic center of the Cagayan Valle. Its location on a peninsula into the Cagayan River is sheltered by the Sierra Madre Mountains in the East; the Cordilleras in the West; and, the Caraballo Mountains in the South. Bayombong
Bayombong is a regional administrative, educational, and religious center. It is between the coast at Appari and the mountains of Nuevo Vizcaya. It is a good place for hiking, for history, and for learning. Bayombong is the provincial capital of Nueva Vizcaya. Tilapia Capital of the Philippines
The Cagayan River flows northward across Luzon, and the valley it creates is the core of Region II, the Cagayan Valley. The Luzon Straits and the islands in that area, are also part of the region.. The economy is predominantly agricultural but tourism and industry are increasingly important, Also, with government support, the region has become the primary center for Tilapia production.
Isabela Province
Isabela Province is the most populous but in some ways the least developed of the five Provinces in the Cagayan Valley Region in North Luzon Island on the Philippines. The province will be the first beneficiary of the Clinton Global initiative's environmental projects, for funding to restore the ravages of illegal foresting. The province is also linked with Hawai'i, recently enjoyed a visit by functionaries from China, and is working hard to develop it's agriculture and economy.

Paradise indeed is the most fitting description for this clusters of island made of volcanic rocks and surrounded by calm emerald green waters. Located at the northern part of Palawan, it is one of the most beautiful island paradise in the Philippines. A daytrip to Bohol Island
After our wedding we spent a few days on the beaches of Panglao, a small island off the coast of Bohol. We did not do much, except for one single excursion: a one-day highlights tour of Bohol. We visited the famous Chocolate Hills, saw (and held) tarsiers, had our lunch on a floating restaurant on Loboc River, and passed by a few Bohol monuments.
